Favorite Battle Pet Add-ons no Zookeeper should be without

Favorite Battle Pet Add-ons no Zookeeper should be without

It's the first of many monthly topics over at Warcraft Pet Foundry Blogging Carnival. This is fashioned after the infamous Cold's Gold blogging carnival & should be a great place to learn & discuss all things Pet Battles in the World of Warcraft.  The inaugural September 2013 topic is:

Pet Battle Add-ons (which add-ons do you use & which ones can you not live without.)

Battle Pet BreedID - This is probably my most favorite add-on for Pet Battles. The pet's breed will be displayed along with all other possible breeds for a particular pet in your tooltip. Why is this important? A breed type determines the attributes/stats of a Battle Pet. At a glace you can see the differences between breeds & also shows all stats compared at max level 25. This will help you decide which pets you want to keep or chase after BEFORE you waste time leveling them up to 25 only to find out there is a "better" version.

The next add-on works in conjunction with my favorite listed above...

BattlePetCount - Really simple, small add-on for displaying the quality/rarity of battle pets you already own whether in the battle, caged on npc via the tooltip.

PetTracker - This is my second favorite Battle Pet add-on. It is really robust & contains a ton of information for the player. Major features are: Displaying the locations of all pets, stables and tamers on the world map, tracks your progress of catching all pets in your current zone, shows the rarity of all three opposing pets in battle and warns you if there are upgrades to be made versus pets you already own, & displays all your enemies and allies abilities as you fight. This add-on has been instrumental in filling out my collection, locating missing pets in the zones I am in & formulating strategy & swaps while fighting by seeing opponents other pet's abilities even if they are not currently up to fight.

Battle Pet Daily Tamer - Just as it is aptly named, this gem will puts a familiar green paw on the world map to mark where daily pet tamers are that you have NOT completed for the day. 5.3 patch introduced a 'Show Pet Tamers' option to the default UI, but the default implementation continues to show the paws after the daily is completed. Also the default UI it doesn't differentiate between satchel and non-satchel tamers, & it doesn't support Beasts of Fable pets.

Happy Hunting!

Daily Haul #4: +52,908g Like Clockwork

Daily Haul #4: +52,908g  Like Clockwork

Welcome to Dilvish's Daily Haul #4!  In these posts I will report daily in-comings & out-goings of gold.  This reflects the time period 9/4 to 9/6/2013.

Current Liquid Gold breaks down across 6 servers/factions I do business in.  This info is always after a fresh reposting of all my items.  Comparing totals we have:

Current Liquid Gold 9/6/13 = 1,544,177g

I use an addon called "Total Gold Earned" (/tge) to display my account wide totals very easily.  As of today we have:

Total Gold Earned 9/6/13 = 11,677,855g

76,908g more total gold earned with a grand total of 52,908g added to my coffers after posting/reposting & crafting/restocking fees.  There is a definite increase in sales as compared to a couple weeks ago & this is obviously due to 5.4 a mere 3 days away.  Like clockwork, keep up on all your gold making markets & I gnome you will succeed.  :P

Daily Haul 9/6/2013 = +52,908g

Daily Haul #3: +22,817g Jingle in my pocket

Daily Haul #3: +22,817g?!  Jingle in my pocket

Welcome to Dilvish's Daily Haul #3!  In these posts we will report daily in-comings & out-goings of gold.

Current Liquid Gold breaks down across 6 servers/factions I do business in.  This info is always after a fresh reposting of all my items.  Comparing yesterday's totals to today we have:

Thunderhorn Alliance =  221,037g  <  226,774g =  +5,737g
Thunderhorn Horde =  87,297g  <  92,105g =  +4,808g
Twisting Nether Horde =  98,315g  <  99,358g =  +1,043g
Staghelm Horde =  393,413g  <  403,098g =  +9,685g
Steamwheedle Cartel Alliance =  323,317g <  324,832g =  +1,515g
Mug'thol Horde =  346,588g  <  346,617g =  +29g

Current Liquid Gold 9/4/13 = 1,469,967 + 22,817g =  1,492,784g

I use an addon called "Total Gold Earned" (/tge) to display my account wide totals very easily.  As of today we have:

Total Gold Earned 9/4/13 = 11,571,570g  <  11,600,947g =  +29,377g

29,377g earned with a total of 22,817g added to my coffers.  I was worried when I started tallying the figures, as I started with my less than impressive 29g total positive gain on Mug'thol.  Luckily my other characters did much better with their respective markets.

Daily Haul 9/4/2013 = +22,817g

Avoid Warcraft Gold Making Burnout -- Shake it up!

Avoid Warcraft Gold Making Burnout -- Shake it up!

It wouldn't be a real Warcraft Gold blog without participating in the infamous Copper-To-Gold's / Cold's Gold blogging carnival.  The August 2013 topic of discussion is:  "What drives you to make gold? What do you do to avoid getting burnt out?"

Reach for that brass ring...

The main driving force for me to continually make gold in the World of Warcraft, is everything still out of reach.  In game gold can be used to obtain a majority of things you don't have but just gotta get:  items & gear, titles, battle pets, achievements, mounts, raid slots, tcg loots, Blizzard store items, etc.  If gold can be exchanged for it, I highly recommend doing it!  I use my gold to gear up my characters, & fill in my Battle Pet/Mount collections.  Most of the items I covet are of the wow tcg loot card nature.  Earn gold in the most enjoyable way you can & spend it how you like!

Avoiding Burnout or Sustainable Gold Making

The answer that immediately comes to mind is "take a break".  I employ this tactic often.  I work across 6 servers/factions to earn my coin & it IS a lot of time & work.  Sometimes I will stop all gold making activities for days, yes DAYS!  I will take myself out of the markets at least once a week.  Do the move with quirky jerk; don't log in to your character(s) or simply refuse to deal with the mailbox & Auction House all together.  I recently unsubbed & then resubbed eleven days later, because I WANTED to.  I was burning out!  During the cancellation I discovered Blizz accidentally allowed me continued game time...they corrected that issue on day seven.  Four days of actually being out of the markets was enough to pull me right back in.  I made 55,934g in the first day and a half back.  Prior to that I was barely pulling in 2,000-5,000 gold daily.  There's more I'd like to share about this strategy & plan to do so in an upcoming blog post.  Don't be afraid to shake it up!

Thanks for reading & if it isn't fun, stop doing it!

Daily Haul #2: +55,934g?! Wrap it up...

Daily Haul #2: +55,934g?!  Wrap it up...

Welcome to Dilvish's Daily Haul #2!  In these posts we will report daily in-comings & out-goings of gold.

Current Liquid Gold breaks down across 6 servers/factions I do business in.  This info is always after a fresh reposting of all my items.  Comparing yesterday's totals to today we have:

Thunderhorn Alliance =  208,210g  <  221,037g =  +12,827g
Thunderhorn Horde =  77,914g  <  87,297g =  +9,383g
Twisting Nether Horde =  95,478g  <  98,315g =  +2,837g
Staghelm Horde =  389,787  <  393,413g =  +3,626g
Steamwheedle Cartel Alliance =  313,217g <  323,317g =  +10,100g
Mug'thol Horde =  334,627  <  346,588g =  +11,961g

Current Liquid Gold 9/1/13 = 1,419,233 + 50,734g =  1,469,967g

I use an addon called "Total Gold Earned" (/tge) to display my account wide totals very easily.  As of today we have:

Total Gold Earned 9/1/13 = 11,515,636g  <  11,571,570g =  +55,934g

55,934g with a total of 50,734g in pocket is an EXCELLENT day for me across all 6 servers/factions I work on.  This is much more impressive than my average daily 2,000-5,000 gold.  Wrap it up...I'll take it!

Daily Haul 9/1/2013 = +55,934g

In the coming days I will expose the various ways I make gold.  Watch this space.

Step 4: Profit. How it works - experiment

Step 4: Profit.  How it works - experiment

Here we are at the end of my first day gold blogging.  My most recent experimental character, now level 12, was looking for good profit & snagged a few "deals" via the Undermine Journal (theunderminejournal.com)  After a cancel scan, a small repost, & a dealfinding search, we're down -854g03s.  This isn't looking good, so far...

I created this level 1 new character on a new server to see what could be done starting out once again at zero gold; Smurgle was born.  Prior to being able to cage Warcraft TCG loot pets & sharing them account wide, there was no easy way to transfer gold, move item(s) of value cross server, & then within days become "rich".  My nest egg came from the selling 2 battle pets, Bananas for 55k gold & Rocket Chicken for 100k gold.  With that initial 155k, I quickly expanded into Mists Blues ilvl 409-450, low priced epics, patterns/recipes that sell for 400-500+g, & crafted Dreadful Mists PVP pieces selling for less than 300g.  If you don't recognize it yet, my biggest Gold Making strategy, it's Flipping.

Flipping, simply put, is finding something valuable at a much lower than normal price & relisting the item at a more "normal" price.  It's finding value & thus quick & easy gold from erroneous price errors.

Negative 854g03s JUST for logging in, sucks...

Good thing we sold a few items from the beginning of this blog until now.  +7439g24s on ONE character on a server far, far away.  A net profit of 6,595g after paying the bills & reinvesting.

The night's still young & we got 5 more servers/factions to go...  >:D

Oh don't mind me, I'm just making it rain gold!

Daily Haul #1: 0g?! We gotta start somewhere

Daily Haul #1: 0g?!  We gotta start somewhere

Welcome to the first Daily Haul!  In these spaces we will discuss daily incoming & outgoing gold.  To start off we need some baselines.

When interacting, there are a few questions players will invariably ask if you claim to be knowledgeable about "gold making".  These questions are (in no particular order):

1:  How much gold do you have currently (liquid)?
2:  How much total gold have you earned (lifetime)
3:  How do you make gold?
4:  How much gold do you make daily?

Current Liquid Gold breaks down across 6 servers/factions I do business in.  This info is after a fresh reposting of all my items today we have:

Thunderhorn Alliance =  208,210g
Thunderhorn Horde =  77,914g
Twisting Nether Horde =  95,478g
Staghelm Horde =  389,787
Steamwheedle Cartel Alliance =  313,217g
Mug'thol Horde =  334,627g

Current Liquid Gold 8/31/2013 = 1,419,233g

Total Gold Earned are statistics that Blizzard tracks under the Achievements tab in game so it's legit!  You can see each character's total gold earned via the AH by hitting "Y" to bring up the achiements, at the bottom hit the "Statistics" tab,  click "Character" & then click "Wealth" & see your own gold timeline.  I use an addon called "Total Gold Earned" (/tge) to display mine account wide very easily.  As of today we have:

Total Gold Earned 8/31/2013 = 11,515,636g

To answer how do I make gold, would steer this away from the Daily Haul concept, so I will follow up this post with another for explanation of how I make gold in a miriad of ways.

And finally, the answer to how much gold I make daily changes with each day.  It depends on many factors which we can get into detail later.  On average I make 2,000-5,000g daily.  Some days I make nothing & I am out all the deposit fees & other days it's a 15k Daily Haul!

Daily Haul 8/31/2013 = 0g
